Shops

Highway Hospice currently has 4 shops, the first shop which opened in Durban has recently celebrated it’s 21st year of operation,   the second shop opened in Hillcrest 10 years ago and we subsequently opened another shop in the Pinetown area.   A group of dedicated volunteers opened a little Home Industries Shop close to the Highway Hospice in Sherwood and later moved the operation onto the premises of the Hospice.

From these small beginnings the Charity Shops have grown into a thriving business, thanks to the donations from the community and business sector. All profits made by the shops go to Highway Hospice, assisting us to provide quality care to the terminally ill and support to their families in the community we serve.

A receiving depot is now in operation which enables us to sort the donations before being sent to the various shops to sell.

Each shop has a dedicated manager and a team of volunteers who help in serving behind the counter, keep rails and shelves tidy.    The receiving depot is run by a depot manager and volunteers who sort bags of clothing, bric-a-brac, books etc.

We are always grateful for donations of items – if you are able to assist in any way, please either:
